Advanced Negotiating Skills training
The Scotwork Advanced Negotiating Skills program is unique. It
produces lasting behavior change, reduces poor negotiating behavior
and delivers a measurable improvement to performance through
intensive and enjoyable skills coaching, delivered by expert
practitioners.
Our clients consistently report an average return on investment of
more than ten times our fees within three months from their
investment in this program.
The course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to
manage complex negotiations in a professional, ethical, and
competent manner, and to drive better deals for their organizations
in situations where long term relationships and integrity are
important. The course allows participants to:
• Understand the structure underlying all negotiations
• Identify the appropriate skills used for negotiations
• Practice these skills in a constructive learning environment;
and
• Deliver a measurable improvement in performance.

The course is offered in two formats, in-house training and open
(public) courses:
In-house training
With our in-house training, we work with you to select the most
appropriate dates for courses, find an appropriate venue (typically
off-site) and we put programs together focused around your
organization's key negotiating issues and goals. We get to know
your business beforehand so that the skills coaching on the program
is directed toward your group's key challenges, and where necessary
relates to their terminology and systems.
The program is delivered by two Scotwork consultants for up to 12
participants, to facilitate personal skills analysis. The standard
timetable is intensive and fast-paced, and runs across one evening
and two and a half days.
As well as providing intensive and practical negotiating skills
development and an impactful change to behavior for the groups,
this format provides a great team-building opportunity. We can even
work with you to deliver a residential (live-in) program which
gives your team even more time to discuss negotiating issues with
our consultants after hours in a relaxed setting.

Open (public) courses
We offer regular Open programs across the US and North
America (for offices around the world click
here). This format is ideal for individuals, or
where it is not possible for groups of 12 members of your team to
be in training in the same week, or where organizations wish to
trial the program before a roll-out across the team.
Many of our participants also enjoy the opportunity to work with
people from other backgrounds, roles and organizations. We only
accept up to three people from each organization onto each Public
course, to ensure that a diverse mix of people is
represented.
These courses typically run from 6pm Monday evening through until
2pm Thursday, and are intensive, practical and fun. We take a
maximum of 12 participants, so just like the in-house programs, the
6:1 participant to tutor ratio provides for plenty of personal
skills analysis, and you will spend 80% of your time in practical
activities.
A place on an Open course in the US costs $3060 plus any
T&E or facility fees for the participant.
